B16a Swap
The Motor
The motor in the car is a b16a. The motor is completely stock besides some bolt-ons. There is an N1 Enduro crank pulley and an AEM short ram intake with a cheap cone on it. The tranny is an A1 tranny out of an Integra. I got that tranny because it's got the longest gears and since the motors not built up yet, why not save on some gas mileage. I have a Y1 tranny that's going on after I start building it up.
The Plans
This is about all I can see myself being able to afford in the next year. I'm trying to build power through the midrange to the top end. his motor will get redone when I'm done with my D series motor. We'll see what happens.
Air, Fuel, and Exhaust
In building the motor up the 1st thing that I'm focusing on is the airflow path. Starting up front with an HKS filter sucking air into a short ram intake. From there, into a Skunk2 intake manifold. The exhaust gases are going to be exiting through a 4-2-1 header. Not sure what make yet. Then it'll go through an Omni Power test pipe to a custom 2 1/4 exhaust with a Magnaflow muffler. After the airflow path is done I'm going to be moving more cfm so the air/fuel ratio will be running pretty lean. For that I'm going to try just using an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.
Internals
Internals are going to be minimal because of money. I figure I'll start out with some Skunk2 Stage 1. It produces power right where I'm aiming for. High mid to the top end Its specs are Int-252 dur. / 11.5mm lift and Exh-249 dur. / 10.8mm lift. I'll have Skunk2 cam gears to go with the cams. For pistons I'm going with Civic Type R B16b pistons. They'll give me an 11.0:1 CR.
The Swap
Parts Needed
For the swap your going to need an Si engine harness, a Vtec subharness (or the plugs that plug into the knock sensor, Vtec solenoid, Vtec oil pressure sensor, and the 2nd O2 sensor) mounts, shift linkage, Pr3 ecu, 90-93 Integra throttle cable, 90-93 Integra axles, 90-93 Integra catalytic converter, 90-93 Integra rear mount bracket , and a small ecu pin. If your going to put a mount on the front of the tranny you need to get one from a 90-93 Integra and weld a bracket to attach the mount to the front crossmember. You also need Si or Dx spindles if you have the Civic Standard.
Droping Motor In
First things to do are grind the front motor mount bracket off the front crossmember (not necessary but looks better) and dent the frame rail in for alternator clearance. Then bolt the rear mount on the rear crossmember and the mount on the timing side of the motor on. I droped it in putting the tranny side down under the mount. Then bolt the driver's side mount to the car. After thats secure put the tranny mount on and raise the motor up and secure that mount. Now for the rear mount. I bolted it on after the motor was in the car. This seemed like the easiest way.
Wiring
The Si wiring harness has everything but the Vtec wires. You have to tap these 4 into the ecu. Looking at the diagram of the ecu plugs wire the VTEC solenoid into A8, the VTEC oil pressure into B5, the O2 sensors into C8, and the knock sensor into B19. There isn't a pin in C8 so you need to get one. I got mine off of Ebay.

Finishing Everything Up
Now all that's left is connecting your radiator and heater core hoses, fuel lines, and vacuum lines. The pictures below are vacuum diagrams from a stock Si motor(d16a6) and from a Del Sol Or Civic with a B16 in it. I used both of the diagrams to complete the vacuum lines.
